Caitlyn Jenner is the recipient of EIPA Special Recognition Award

Beverly Hills, CA (6-19-2015) – EIPA is proud to announce Caitlyn Jenner, as the recipient of its prestigious Annual Special Recognition Award. Caitlyn’s bravery and courage in promoting LGBT issues and causes has been exemplary. Coming out as a transgender woman in today’s society is not easy, especially with the type of spotlight that Caitlyn’s family has. She has had little privacy or even expectation of privacy along her journey. Even with recent developments and freedoms of the LGBT movement, gender transition is still an incredibly difficult thing in our society, and Caitlyn has handled it with great poise and class.

Caitlyn’s public transition has had tremendous benefits in bringing the transgender lifestyle out of the shadows and making it more acceptable and normal for the mainstream public. Caitlyn has shown that transgender men and women are no different, and should be treated no different than cisgendered men and women. The 20/20 interview Caitlyn did on ABC had 20.7 million viewers, making it television’s “highest-ever rated newsmagazine telecast among adults 18–49 and adults 25–54″

Caitlyn’s work in promoting the LGBT issues has been outstanding. She has drawn the spotlight on the problems and issues facing the LGBT community, and transgender people specifically. Despite all the recent legislation, a lot of transgender people are still facing discrimination in the workplace and in their personal life.

We wish Caitlyn the best in her life in the public spotlight and present this award to her for her outstanding achievements in entertainment and philanthropy.
